The 10-point must system awards the round winner 10 points and the loser 9 points (or 8 if knocked down, or in a completely dominated round at a judge’s discretion). Three independent judges score each round; the totals are summed across all rounds. A unanimous decision is all three judges agreeing; a split decision has two for one fighter; a majority decision has two for one fighter and one for a draw. The system has been criticised for consistently producing 10-9 cards that make it hard to differentiate rounds.
