What happens if my trucks are too wide or narrow for my deck?
Trucks significantly narrower than your deck make the board feel unstable and 'tippy' since the wheels sit further inboard from the edges. Trucks significantly wider create an awkward, oversized feel and can look and ride strangely. Matching within about a quarter-inch of your deck width is the standard target.
How do I adjust truck tightness?
Turn the kingpin nut (the large nut at the centre of the truck) clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen, using a skate tool or wrench. Make small adjustments and test ride between changes — most skaters find their preferred tightness through trial and error rather than a fixed formula.
