A duck stance angles the front binding positive (toes pointing forward-out) and the back binding negative (toes pointing back-out), creating a symmetrical 'duck-footed' setup such as +15°/-15°. This symmetry allows comfortable riding in both directions — regular and switch — making it the standard for freestyle and park riding where switch riding is common. All-mountain riders often use a milder duck (e.g. +15°/-6°), while freeriders angle both bindings more forward for carving power and reduce or eliminate the duck.
