What is Service Rotation (Table Tennis)?

Each player serves for 2 consecutive points, then service changes throughout the game.

In singles table tennis, each player serves for 2 consecutive points before service transfers to the opponent. This continues throughout the game. At deuce (10-10), the pattern changes: service alternates every single point. In doubles, service is more complex — the player who received in one game must serve in the next, and serves must go diagonally. Knowing the service rotation is essential for competitive play — disputed serves are a common source of argument in club games.
