What is Shooting Percentage (Netball)?

Goals scored as a percentage of shots attempted — the most decisive individual metric in netball.

Because only two players per team (GS and GA) can score and every goal counts equally, shooting accuracy is the single most decisive individual statistic in netball. Elite international shooters convert 88-95% of attempts; top Super League and Suncorp Super Netball shooters routinely exceed 90% from close range. Club-level shooters typically range 75-88%. Shots are taken from a stationary position (footwork rule) with defenders required to stay 0.9m away, which is why netball shooting percentages are much higher than in basketball.
