Net Run Rate is the standard tie-breaker when cricket teams are level on points in a league table. It's the team's total run rate (runs scored ÷ overs faced) minus the run rate of their opponents against them (runs conceded ÷ overs bowled), across all matches in the competition. A positive NRR means a team generally outscores opponents. When a team is bowled out, the full quota of overs is used in the calculation as a penalty.
