Lacrosse shooting uses the netted crosse to whip the ball at the goal, with elite shots exceeding 100 mph. Key metrics are shooting percentage (goals ÷ total shots) and shooting percentage on goal (goals ÷ shots on target). Shot types include the overhand shot, sidearm, the around-the-world, and the bounce shot (deliberately bouncing the ball in front of the goal to deceive the keeper). Shot selection is crucial — high-percentage shots from close range or on the run convert far better than contested outside attempts. Elite attackers convert 30-40% of total shots.
